Data Diet

You may have heard that ATT plans to put caps on data usage. While Trimble Outdoors apps generally aren't data hogs like other streaming or video applications, you can save data downloads with these tips:

1. Cache or store the maximum number of map tiles on the phone. Once you load the maps you want, you don't have to re-download them. Most of our apps cache maps on the phone so you can use them outside the cell coverage, but this feature now saves you in data downloads too. You can change the map cache settings under the Settings menu.

2. Avoid 3G or Edge network charges by downloading maps when you have a Wifi connection.

3. Upload and share media-rich trips to your personal account on trimbleoutdoors.com when you return home and have a WiFi connection.
