O Canada! Ben Davis & the Do Life Tour Comes to Toronto

The Do Life Tour is not yet two weeks old, and yet the results are jaw-dropping.

Over the span of 12 events, 533 people have come out to join AllSport GPS Ambassador Ben Davis. During the runs, they have covered 1,652 miles and burned 297,082 calories, which puts the Tour on a pace to burn over 1,000,000 calories by the final event.

After tonight's event in Buffalo, Ben and crew will enjoy a very well deserved day off, before heading to the Great White North of Canada.

Our friend's in Toronto will get a chance to Do Life on Saturday starting at 10:15am. The event will begin at the train by Steamwhistle, which is across from the CN tower.

Be sure to check out Ben's site, bendoeslife.com and follow him on Twitter @BenDoesLife.

The Power of Being Fit of Body and Mind

I think one of the biggest things that has struck me while doing this tour is the variety of issues and struggles people are dealing with. But they aren't just dealing with the issues, they are taking a proactive approach and turning to fitness to be that thing that helps them Do Life.

It might be a natural thing to assume that fitness--in whatever form it may be--is a way to deal with just weight issues; I'm finding that that isn't the case.

Through this tour, we have indeed met many people who are using running as a means to lose weight, but we have also met people struggling with drug addiction, alcohol dependency, depression, anxiety, agoraphobia, and even eating disorders. The fact of the matter is this: fitness can be used to replace an array of different struggles. It's a resonating positive energy that has been scientifically proven to make people feel better.

We have to figure out a way to replace the unsatisfying areas of our lives with something positive and over the past two years, I've found that doing these things, and, more importantly, doing these things together is a huge key to finding that happiness.

Is something going on in your life? Are you looking to replace some bad habits with something good? Try running. Try biking. Try swimming. Try yoga. Get active and see what happens. I think you'll be surprised.

Eleven cities down. 21 to go. Hope to see you out there.

Guilt Free - New Blog Post by Ben Davis

A couple of things my dad said over the past few months in regard to running resonate with me. One is that running is the key that opens the door to a guilt free day.

I find that if I don’t run it’ll hover over me like a dark cloud until I finally get up and do it, and once I’ve done it I feel great -- like no matter what else I accomplish that day it’s been a success because I’ve gotten my running in.

Closely related to this is the concept of acting our way into right thinking. Our minds can be our worst enemies in terms of talking ourselves out of what we should be doing. If we just get up and do whatever physical thing we’re supposed to be doing, then our minds will follow, and we’ll wind up feeling good about it.

It’s a win-win that way, body and mind. Take the steps, the mind will follow.

We Are Runners - New Blog by Ben Davis

While on the road, Ben Davis checks in after the Do Life Tour's fourth event:

We’ve been on the Do Life tour for four days. Four long days of traveling, running, training for an Ironman and getting not-a-lot of sleep.

But, already, it’s been four of the coolest days we have ever experienced.

We’ve met hundreds of people. Hundreds of people who have lost thousands of pounds, hundreds of people who have, through fitness, found a better life.

And that’s what it’s about.

As we were driving through Philadelphia a few days ago, we were talking about how cool it is that we’ve shared the trails with so many different types of people. Different ages from four years old up to 64 years old. So many different people from different walks and places of life.

And that’s what this is about.

We’ve realized that when we strap on our shoes and hit the trails together, we’re no longer teachers or lawyers or CEOs or bankers or waitresses or truckers or whatever we do.

We are runners. No more, no less.

We run together, we tell our stories, we share our inspiration and no one is better than the other.

We are runners.

And that’s what it’s about.

We’ve been on the road for four days, and we have 36 left to go.

We hope to see you out there.

The Do Life Tour Heads Down South

With the pavement of Philadelphia still warm, the first three stops on the Do Life Tour have generated terrific results thus far.

The 121 runners have combined to run 375.1 miles which has burned 72,271 calories...in only three days. Wow.

With those amazing results, the potential for the Tour over it's remaining 28 events is limitless.

It continues tonight (June 21st) in Baltimore, then heads to Washington DC tomorrow.

Following the Mid-Atlantic portion, Ben Davis and company will head to the South. The Charlotte event will be run on June 23rd before the Tour's first off-day on Friday. The man does need rest at some point...or does he?

The weekend brings the fun to Orlando (June 25th) and then Atlanta on Sunday the 26th.

For details, click on the city name above. Don't miss the only surefire blockbuster of the summer, the Do Life Tour.
